As I sit here finalizing details for an upcoming wedding, it makes me wonder what it is that I love about Indian weddings. Is it the vivid colors and design? Or is it the pre-wedding celebrations like the Mehndi night, Sangeet, or Garba night? Or is it the sound of the Dhol leading the Baraat procession? Or is it the wedding ceremony itself, filled with tradition and rituals?
I just don't know if I can pick one. . . . . but what I do know with certainty is the excitement I feel for all of my brides of 2013 and beyond! I wish you all the most spectacular of weddings. And even more so, an amazing marriage!

A little about me, Chaitali Desai. . . .
Lately I have been asked why I transitioned into wedding and special events planning given my medical background? Honestly, I feel that everyone should be celebrated! It truly is that simple. Everyone should feel like This is their day and they should be able to enjoy it through and through.
Unfortunately, it is so easy to get stressed and over worked when planning your wedding, I know, I have been there. The process can be taxing if you are doing it yourself, and finally when your big day arrives, you are usually so tired and stressed that you do not enjoy your special day.
And I feel saddened by this thought. This is the day that you have been dreaming about, and you should be present, and in the moment to enjoy it! Your wedding or event can be small and intimate or large and lavish, my goal as your planner is to ensure that every moment is one that you feel cherished and celebrated. Given my laboratory background, organizing and streamlining your event so that it is fluid and that what you envisioned is what is created is my specialty! So that when you look at your wedding album, you can relive those photos with joy, and remember being in that moment, physically, mentally, and emotionally! If there is anything I can do to help you, please call on me at 619-916-8380 or email me at deplanners@gmail.com.

Breast Cancer, Henna, and Beauty. . . What do they all have in common?
Good Morning! I hope your's has been a beautiful one! I am sure that you are wondering about my title, Breast Cancer, Henna, and Beauty, I know I would be! So please read on. . . . .
As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and a few days ago, I read a blog about breast caner and henna, and was very moved! (http://hennablogspot.com/the-art-and-beauty-of-henna-in-breast-cancer-awareness).
And yes, it was a few days ago, but after reading this article, I had to deal with my own emotions and thoughts about cancer and the toll it takes on the patient and their family and friends. Unfortunately, I know first hand, having lost my Father to Lung Cancer nearly 7 years ago, what cancer feels like. Not directly of course, but how it feels to watch those you love go through the process, the treatments, the surgery. And the emotions they go through, from feeling the "why me?" to the "I can do this" to the "Oh, my hair is falling out."
Man or woman, I think that the physical changes cancer causes are difficult! I imagine that even though you know that you have this disease, you still want to look at yourself and feel the very beauty that you know you are. For woman especially, I think hair loss is double whammy. I mean just think about the time and energy we spend every day on our hair to make sure that it looks just right. And then to wake up one morning to find that all of it has fallen out must so difficult, emotionally and mentally.
So where then does Henna come into play? Right now. . . .I have been inspired by Henna Sooq's blog! Brilliance by Chaitali would love to offer you,or someone you know battling Breast Cancer, Henna Artistry for the month of October free of charge. What Queen or Princess would be complete without their crown, their Henna Crown that is? And if you feel that you would rather not Henna your head, then let's do your arms or feet or whatever you feel like! As long as you promise to feel as beautiful as you truly are, I will Henna away!
Please call Chaitali at 619-916-8380 or visit us at www.diamondeventsinc.com or www.brilliancebychaitali.com to schedule your appointment.

O Mera Dulhan . . .
The wedding date is set and fast approaching! You have everything organized down to the last detail. Even your manicure and pedicure is scheduled, your facial is already done, your Bridal Mehndi design chosen, and your Pithi is ready! You are all set to take that walk down the aisle!
My only question is: Why Walk? Why not savor these last few moments as the Princess of your house?
Let's channel your inner Cleopatra for a moment, and let's consider being carried in to the wedding hall like the Princess that you are? Have you considered a Dholi for your grand entrance? There's a Dholi to fit every personality. Whether you are like me and choose a traditional Sankheda Dholi, or you prefer something a bit more extravagent, like a bejeweled velvet bed Dholi, it is all possible!
Be carried in to your wedding, and then walk to your Mandap. And with every step you take, know that you are transforming from the Princess of your house to the Queen!
May your steps be strong, may your walk be wonderous, and may your transformation be timeles! We wish you the best and if we can be of any help, please contact Chaitali Desai of Diamond Events at 619-916-8380.

The Inspired Groom
I finally saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, and it was Fabulous! While watching it though, I couldn't help but think of weddings! Yes, that's right, weddings, and specifically, my South Asian Grooms! When planning a wedding, we are all looking for that Wow factor, that moment of surprise and awe, right? With Indian and other South Asian weddings, we are always waiting to see how and when the Groom will arrive. So why not have it be spectacular!
Grooms, this is Your mission, if you choose it: to own Your Baraat (Groom's Wedding Procession)!
How phenomenal would it be to blow your guests away, literally! Imagine being flown in and delivered by helicopter, very Ethan Hunt-esque, to your wedding! Are you wondering if it can be done? IT CAN! If you have chosen to accept this mission and need help planning it, please call Chaitali of Diamond Events at 619-916-8380! I will do the planning, and all that I ask of you, is to hold on tight because this mission will be Amazing!
